This Privacy Policy explains how Vedaron (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Vedaron mobile application and related admin / sync services (the “Service”).
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to shop owners, staff, and administrators who use the Vedaron Android app or the associated web admin panel.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:
- Account information: username, password (stored hashed), shop name, and account status.
- Shop profile: shop name, address, phone number, GST / tax details, UPI ID, invoice settings, and shop logo or images you upload.
- Business data you enter: products, categories, prices, stock, bills / invoices, customer names and mobile numbers (if you add them), restaurant table sessions, and related notes.
- Media: product photos, shop images, and barcode / QR scan images captured with the device camera when you use those features.
- Device & technical data: approximate network status, app version, and basic server logs (for example IP address, timestamps, and error messages) needed to operate sync and security.
- Authentication tokens: API tokens used to keep you signed in and authorize sync.
3. Permissions the app may request
On Android, Vedaron may request:
- Camera — to scan barcodes / QR codes and capture product or shop images.
- Bluetooth — to connect to thermal receipt printers.
- Location (approximate / precise) — used on some Android versions only to discover nearby Bluetooth printers; we do not track you for advertising.
- Internet / network state — to log in, sync data with our servers, and check connectivity.
- Photos / files (system picker) — you may choose images or save PDFs through Android’s picker; we do not request broad photo-library access.
- Notifications — optional alerts for bills or device events you enable.
You can deny optional permissions; related features may not work until granted.
4. How we use information
- Provide billing, inventory, reporting, printing, sharing, and sync features.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts from unauthorized access.
- Back up and restore shop data when sync is enabled.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service (including diagnosing crashes and abuse).
- Communicate about account status, support, or important service notices.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party ads in the app.
5. Where data is stored
- On your device: local database (Hive) and files for offline use.
- On our servers: when you log in and sync, account and business data may be stored on hosting used for Vedaron (including https://admin.vedaron.com).
6. Sharing of information
We may share information only:
- With service providers who host or operate our servers (under confidentiality obligations).
- When you choose to share (for example WhatsApp / PDF share of a receipt).
- If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- To protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the Service, our users, or the public.
7. Data retention & deletion
We retain account and synced business data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, dispute handling, and legal compliance. Shop owners can permanently erase the cloud account from Settings → Delete account in the app (password or WhatsApp OTP confirmation). You may also email support@vedaron.com to request deletion. Uninstalling the app removes local data on that device.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as hashed passwords, access-controlled admin tools, and HTTPS for API traffic). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your device updated.
9. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Your choices & rights
- Access or update shop and product information inside the app / admin panel.
- Delete your shop account in the app: Settings → Delete account (owners only).
- Request account deactivation or deletion by emailing us.
- Revoke Android permissions in system settings.
- Stop sync by logging out (local-only use may remain on the device).
If applicable law gives you additional rights (access, correction, erasure, portability), contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
11. Third-party services
The app may open third-party apps or links you choose (for example WhatsApp or a browser). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
12. International users
Servers may be located in India or another region used by our hosting provider. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in those locations.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
